The Waffle House is centred around a 16th Century Watermill in a historic part of St Albans. The water wheel has been restored and is continually maintained to allow it to still turn today.
The Mill, which sits on the River Ver, is situated at the lower end of the beautiful Verulamium Park which has walks, sports facilities and large lake with many species of water birds. Verulamium Museum, the Roman Hypocaust and the Amphitheatre are all just a short walk through St. Michaels village and St Albans Abbey is at the opposite end of the park. Fishpool Street with many fine period buildings runs past the Abbey down to St Michaels village from the city centre.
